Where to Eat

There are so many great places to eat in Chicago! Below are a few of our favorites, but there's no way we can list them all!

Uncle Mike's Place

Uncle Mike's has both Filipino and American breakfast and lunch options. The food is delicious and the service is friendly. We love their longanisa and skirt steak breakfast combo!

Flying Saucer

Yummy breakfast place with a lot of vegetarian and vegan options. They get pretty busy so go early! They're cash only (There's an ATM), so be prepared!

Janik's Cafe

This is our neighborhood diner. The service is great and the food is super yummy! Try their chorizo and egg breakfast platter or Latin bowl for lunch.

Daebak Korean Barbecue

If you haven't had Korean barbecue, now is your chance! Daebak is a solid option that has locations in both Chinatown and Wicker Park.

Shabu Plus Rotary Hot Pot

We love hot pot, but we disagree on broth and ingredients! Shabu is great because every person gets their own pot of broth to cook in. Veggie ingredients come by on a conveyor belt, and meat is delivered to-order on a little truck. How cute!

Gilt Bar

If you're feeling fancy, head to Gilt Bar. Reservations can be hard-ish to get, so plan ahead. Their mussels, salmon caesar, and mushroom carbonara are musts.
